73rd Reading (Park) Scout Group

Scouting is open to all young people starting from age 6. 73rd Reading has three sections, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts with more information below. We have now started an Explorer Scout unit for young people over the age of 14 - offering Scouting to even more young people!

Scouting is very popular and we might not be able to offer your child a place immediately, however please do contact us and we can advise you about when a place may become available at Park or help you find other local options.

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring, computing and collecting. Achieving personal milestones mean you will gain badges and awards to wear on your uniform.

Cub Scouts also get to go on trips and days out, to places like the zoo, theme parks or a farm. Sometimes you will be able to go camping with the rest of your Pack. This will mean you sleeping in a tent and doing loads of outdoor activities.
